Steven H. Bolton

Steve Bolton grew up on a farm near Nevis, Minnesota. After graduating from Nevis High School, he attended Bemidji State University and obtained a degree in Business Administration.

After his father, Melvin Bolton, passed away, he and his sister, Mary Jo Sackett took over and operated Pine and Lake Realty, a family real estate company that existed for many years in Park Rapids, Minnesota.

In 1985 Steve entered William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated cum laude in 1989. Since 1989 he has practiced law in Park Rapids as a sole practitioner.

Steve's practice consists of a general practice of law with an emphasis on real estate. He was a public defender for a number of years and has also represented hundreds of people who are unable to afford council through Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota.  In 1994 he was awarded their "Outstanding Attorney of the Year" award. He currently is a city and township attorney and has an extensive practice in real estate, estate planning and probate law.
